Remembering the Bay

The Batemans Bay and Clyde River Historical Society released its publication Remembering the Bay in May 2012 . It has proved to be popular with both locals and visitors, with over 70 copies sold in just a few weeks. The book is the culmination of many months of gathering memories from residents of the Bay during the period 1930s to 1970s, as part of the Memory Book Project, and is selling at $24.00.

Then and Now - A Pictorial History of Batemans Bay

Remembering the Bay was followed up in March 2013 with the publication of a companion volume “Then and Now – A Pictorial History of Batemans Bay”. "Then and Now" aims to document the changes that have occurred in Batemans Bay during the last thirty years. It is selling at $21.00.

Members Myf Thompson, Ewan Morrison and Diane Hantas review the museum's recent publication "Remembering the Bay".

Launch of the Clyde River Chronicles Volume 1 (February 2015)

After a year of research, the Historical Society has proudly launched its latest historical publication. Covering monthly events year by year, Clyde River Chronicles Volume 1, 1770-1900, was compiled from contemporary newspaper and journals by historian Dianne Hantas pictured above with Society President Ewan Morrison). Local tragedies and triumphs are put into context by side notes on regional/national events. A useful research tool is the use of symbols against each entry, enabling a reader to easily trace the development of themes, such as shipwrecks and land sales. Dianne has been pivotal in the publication of our last 3 books, and is now working on Vol 2. Vol 1, 1770-1900 is available for sale at the Museum, price $24.00, plus postage if required.
